STATUTORY ORDER UNDER THE BHARATIYA NAGARIK SURAKSHA SANHITA, 2023

(Central Act 46 of 2023)

STATUTORY ORDER

No. II(2)/HO/1147(c)/2025.

In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (1) of section 176 of the Bharatiya Nagarik

Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (Central Act 46 of 2023), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby prescribes

that the officer in charge of a police station on his behalf, may depute any of his subordinate police

officer not below the rank of Head Constable to proceed to the spot, to investigate the facts and

circumstances of the case, and, if necessary, to take measures for the discovery and arrest of the

offender under sub-section (1) of section 176 of the said Central Act 46 of 2023.
