Dr. K. Thirumalaimuthu, ICLS (Retired) State Information
Commissioners, Tamil Nadu Information Commission
have subscribed oath of office as State Chief Information
Commissioner and State Information Commissioners,
Tamil Nadu Information Commission on 16.06.2023 F.N.

As per sub-section (2) of section 16 of the
Right to Information Act, 2005 (Central Act 22 of 2005)
as amended in the Right to Information (Amendment)
Act, 2019 and as per Rule 12 of the Right to Information
(Term of Office, Salaries, Allowances and other Terms and
Conditions of Service of Chief Information Commissioner,
Information Commissioners in the Central Information
Commission, State Chief Information Commissioner and
State Information Commissioners in the State Information
Commission) Rules, 2019, the State Chief Information
Commissioner and State Information Commissioners, as
the case may be, shall hold office for a term of three years
from the date on which he enters upon his office or till he
attains the age of sixty five years, from the date on which he
enters upon his office.

Accordingly, Thiru Md. Shakeel Akhter, I.P.S.
(Retired), State Chief Information Commissioner and
Tvl. P. Thamarai Kannan, I.P.S. (Retired), R. Priyakumar.

Commission, completes their tenure of term of office of
three years on 15.06.2026 Α.Ν.

Tamil Nadu Information Commission, shall cease to hold
office on the afternoon of 15.06.2026 as provided in sub-
section (2) of section 16 of the Right to Information Act,
2005 (Central Act 22 of 2005) as amended in the Right
to Information (Amendment) Act, 2019 and as provided
in Rule 12 of the Right to Information (Term of Office,
Salaries, Allowances and other Terms and Conditions of
Service of Chief Information Commissioner, Information
Commissioners in the Central Information Commission,
State Chief Information Commissioner and State Information
Commissioners in the State Information Commission)
Rules, 2019.
