SPECIAL COURT FOR TRIAL OF CRIMINAL CASES RELATING TO ELECTED MPs/MLAs OF THE

STATE - SPECIFYING THE WHOLE OF THE STATE OF TELANGANA AS THE LOCAL AREA.

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 11 read with clause ( j )

of Section 2 and read with Sections 7 and 9 (1) of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974) and

after consultation with the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the State of Telangana and the State of

Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, Government of Telangana hereby

(1)

specifies the whole of the State of Telangana as the local area for the purpose of establishing a

Special Court for the trial of offences relating to elected MPs and MLAs as sanctioned vide

G.O.Ms.No. 6, Law (LA, LA&J-Home-Courts-A2) Department dated: 28-02-2018 and

G.O.M.S.No. 15, Finance (HRM-II) Department, dated: 02-03-2018 issued by the Government

of Telangana; and

establishes a Special Court of Judicial Magistrate of First Class to try offences relating to elected

MPs and MLAs and the said Court shall be known as the Court of Special Judge in the cadre of

Sessions Judge for trial of criminal cases relating to elected MPs and MLAs, arising out of the

entire area of State of Telangana.
