TELANGANA STATE ELECTION COMMISSION

ELECTIONS TO MUNICIPALITIES AND MUNICIPAL CORPORATION - GHMC - APPOINTMENT

OF ELECTION AUTHORITIES.

No. 1049/TSEC-ULBs/2018-1.- In exercise of the powers conferred under Article 243 K and 243 ZA of the

Constitution of India and Sections 10 A and 10 B and clause (12) of Section 2 of the Telangana Municipalities

Act, 1965 (Act 6 of 1965), and Rules issued there under, the State Election Commission, Telangana hereby, appoints

the Commissioner & Director of Municipal Administration, Telangana State, Hyderabad as ELECTION

AUTHORITY to exercise such powers and to perform such functions specified in the said Act and the rules made

there under in connection with the conduct of election to all the Municipalities in the State.

No. 1049/TSEC-ULBs/2018-2.- In exercise of the powers conferred under Article 243 K and 243 ZA of

the Constitution of India and Section 9 and 10 and clause (15-a) of Section 2 of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal

Corporations Act, 1955 (Act No. II of 1956) and under clause (b) of Section 2 of Telangana Municipal Corporations,

Act 1994 (Act 25 of 1994) read with section 14 thereof, the State Election Commission, Telangana hereby appoints

the Commissioner & Director of Municipal Administration, Telangana State, Hyderabad as ELECTION

AUTHORITY to exercise such powers and to perform such functions specified in the said Acts and the rules made

there under in connection with the conduct of elections to all the Municipal Corporations in the State except the

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

No. 1049/TSEC-ULBs/2018-3.- In exercise of the powers conferred under Article 243 K and 243 ZA of

the Constitution of India and Sections 10 A and 10 B of the Telangana Municipalities Act, 1965 (Act 6 of 1965),

clause (15-a) of Section 2 and Sections 9 & 10 of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporations Act, 1955

(Act No. II of 1956) and sub-rule (b)(2) of Rule 4 of Telangana Municipality Act (Conduct of Elections of Members)

Rules, 2005 and Section 14 of Telangana Municipal Corporations Act, 1994 (Act 25 of 1994) the State Election

Commission, hereby, appoints the District Collectors of all Districts except Hyderabad District as DISTRICT

ELECTION AUTHORITIES for their respective districts to exercise such powers and to perform such functions

specified in the said Act and Rules made there under, in connection with the conduct of election to the Municipalities

and Municipal Corporations in their Districts excepting that of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

No. 1049/TSEC-ULBs/2018-4.- In exercise of the powers conferred under Article 243 K and 243 ZA of

the Constitution of India and clause (15-a) of Section 2 and Sections 9 and 10 of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal

Corporations Act, 1955 (Act No. II of 1956) and under clause (b) of Section 2 and section 14 of Telangana

Municipal Corporations, Act 1994 (Act 25 of 1994), the State Election Commission, Telangana hereby appoints all

Commissioners of Municipal Corporations except GHMC as ADDITIONAL ELECTION AUTHORITIES

to exercise such powers and to perform such functions as may be assigned to them by the Election Authority/District

Election Authority concerned and to make necessary administrative arrangements in connection with the conduct of

elections in their respective Municipal Corporations in the State.

No. 1049/TSEC-ULBs/2018-5.- In exercise of the powers conferred under Article 243 K and 243 ZA of

the Constitution of India and Sections 10 A and 10 B of the Telangana Municipalities Act, 1965 (Act 6 of 1965), the

State Election Commission, hereby, appoints the Regional Directors-cum-Appellate Commissioners of

Municipal Administration of Telangana as ADDITIONAL ELECTION AUTHORITIES to exercise such

powers and to perform such functions as may be assigned to them by the Election Authority/District Election Authority

concerned in connection with the conduct of elections in the Municipalities that fall in their respective jurisdictions in

the State.

No. 1049/TSEC-ULBs/2018-6.- In exercise of the powers conferred under Article 243 K and 243 ZA of the

Constitution of India and Sections 10 A and 10 B of the Telangana Municipalities Act, 1965 (Act 6 of 1965), the State

Election Commission, Telangana hereby, appoints the Revenue Divisional Officers / Sub-Collectors as DEPUTY

DISTRICT ELECTION AUTHORITIES to exercise such powers and to perform such functions as may be

assigned t to them by the District Election Authority concerned in connection with the conduct of election to the

Municipalities.

The District Election Authority may authorize, in writing, the Deputy District Election Authority to exercise any

of the powers vested in him/her under the Telangana Municipalities (Conduct of Election of Members) Rules, 2005

in connection with the conduct of election to the Municipalities within his/her jurisdiction.

No. 1049/TSEC-ULBs/2018-7.- In exercise of the powers conferred under Article 243 K and 243 ZA of the

Constitution of India and Section 9 and 10 and clause (15-a) of Section 2 of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal

Corporations Act, 1955 (Act No. II of 1956) the State Election Commission, Telangana hereby appoints the

Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Hyderabad as ELECTION AUTHORITY to

exercise such powers and to perform such functions specified in the said Acts and the rules made there under in

connection with the conduct of elections to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

No. 1049/TSEC-ULBs/2018-8.- In exercise of the powers conferred under Article 243 K and 243 ZA of the

Constitution of India and Section 9 and 10 and clause (15-a) of Section 2 of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal

Corporations Act, 1955 (Act No. II of 1956) the State Election Commission, Telangana hereby appoints Additional

Election Authorities and Deputy Election Authorities to assist the Election Authority and Commissioner, GHMC

in connection with the conduct of elections to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, as follows:

1.

The Collectors & District Magistrates, Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Sangareddy and Medchal Malkajgiri

districts shall be the Additional Election Authorities.

2.

The Zonal Commissioners of North, South, East, West and Central Zones of GHMC shall be the

Deputy Election Authorities.

No. 1049/TSEC-ULBs/2018-9.-In exercise or the powers conferred under Article 243 K and 243 ZA of the

Constitution of India and Section 9 and 10 and clause (15-a) of section 2 of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal

Corporations Act, 1955 (Act No. II of 1956) the State Election Commission, Telangana hereby appoints the Deputy

Commissioners of all circles of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, as Assistant Election

Authorities to assist the Election Authority and Commissioner, GHMC in connection with the conduct of elections

to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
