APPOINTMENT OF DR. B. VENKATESWARLU, JOINT DIRECTOR (ENFORCEMENT) (FAC), DRUGS

CONTROL ADMINISTRATION AS LICENSING AND CONTROLLING AUTHORITY UNDER

DRUGS AND THE COSMETICS ACT, 1940 AND THE NARCOTIC DRUGS AND PSYCHOTROPIC

SUBSTANCE ACT, 1985 FOR THE ENTIRE STATE OF TELANGANA.

I.- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 59 read with rule 49-A of the Drugs and

Cosmetics Rules, 1945, and in supersession of notification issued vide G.O.Ms.No. 174, Health, Medical & Family

Welfare (C2) Department, dated: 05.10.2017, the Government of Telangana hereby appoint Dr. B. Venkateswarlu,

Joint Director (Enforcement), (FAC), Drugs Control Administration, Government of Telangana as the “Licensing

Authority” for the purpose of sub-rule (1) of rule 69 of Part VII, sub-rule (1) of Rule 90 of Part XIV and also the

“Approving Authority” under sub-rule (1) of rule 150-B of Part-XV (A) of the said Rules for the entire State of

Telangana for the purpose of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 (Central Act No. 23 of 1940) and the rules made

there under.

II.- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rlule (2) of rule 50 read with rule 50-A of Drugs and Cosmetics

Rules, 1945, and in supersession of notification issued vide G.O.Ms.No. 174, Health, Medical & Family Welfare (C2)

Department, Dated: 05.10.2017, the Government of Telangana hereby appoint Dr. B. Venkateswarlu, Joint Director

(Enforcement), (FAC), Drugs Control Administration, Government of Telangana as the “Controlling Authority” for

the purpose of sub-rule (3) of rule 50 of the said rules for the entire State of Telangana for the purpose of the Drugs

and Cosmetics Act, 1940 (Central Act No. 23 of 1940) and the rules made there under.

III.- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances

Act, 1985 (Central Act No. 61 of 1985), and in supersession of notification issued vide G.O.Ms.No. 174, Health,

Medical & Family Welfare (C2) Department, Dated: 05.10.2017, the Government of Telangana hereby appoint

Dr. B. Venkateswarlu, Joint Director (Enforcement), (FAC), Drugs Control Administration, Government of Telangana

as the “Licensing Authority” for the entire State of Telangana for the purpose of said Act.
