AMENDMENT TO RULE 40 OF THE TELANGANA FACTORIES

RULES, 1950 - PROVISION OF SANITARY NAPKINS FOR

THE WOMEN WORKERS.

FINAL NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 112 and Section

19(3) of the Factories Act, 1948 (Central Act No.63 of 1948), the Governor

of Telangana hereby makes the following amendments to rule 40 of the

[ 1 ]

Telangana Factories Rules, 1950 since the objections / suggestions have

been called for vide G.O.Rt. No.409, L.E.T. & F. (Lab) Department,

Dated: 28-08-2019 published in Telangana Gazette vide Notification

No. 19, Part-I Extraordinary, Dated: 31-08-2019 in terms of

sub-section (1) of Section 115 of the said Act and no objections / suggestions

have been received within the stipulated period:-

AMENDMENT

In the said rules, in rule 40, after sub-rule (iv), the following sub-rules

shall be added, namely:-

"(v) Sanitary Napkins of adequate quantity conforming to Indian

Standards shall be provided and maintained in the women's toilets

for their use and the same replenished on daily basis;

(vi) Disposable bins with lids shall be provided within the women's

toilets for the collection of the used napkins. The used napkins

shall be disposed off as per the procedure approved by the

Inspector".
