CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT, 2019 (CENTRAL ACT No.35 OF 2019) - CONFERMENT OF POWERS OF A

JUDICIAL MAGISTRATE OF FIRST CLASS ON THE STATE COMMISSION AND DISTRICT

COMMISSIONS IN THE STATE OF TELANGANA AS PER PROVISION UNDER SECTION 72 (2) OF

THE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT, 2019.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 72 of the Consumer Protection

Act, 2019 (Central Act No. 35 of 2019), the Governor of Telangana hereby confer the powers of a

Judicial Magistrate of First Class on the District Commissions and the State Commission, as the case

may be, shall have the power of a Judicial Magistrate of first class for the trial of offences under sub-

section (1) of Section 72 of the aforesaid act, and on conferment of such powers, the District Commission

or the State Commission, as the case may be, shall act as a Judicial Magistrate of first class for purposes

of the code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act 2 of 1974).
