INDIRECT ELECTIONS TO THE OFFICE OF CHAIRPERSON OF KAMAREDDY MUNICIPALITY IN

KAMAREDDY DISTRICT.

No. 519/ TSEC-ULBs/2024 :- In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 243-ZA of Constitution of

India, read with Section 194, 195(5) and Section 20 of the Telangana Municipalities Act, 2019, (Act 11

of 2019) and Rule 3, 4 and 11 of Telangana Municipalities (Conduct of Election of Chairperson and

Vice-Chairperson of Municipal Council and Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Municipal Corporation) Rules,

2020, as amended vide G.O.Ms.No. 07, of MA&UD (MA) Department, Dated: 31-01-2024, the State

Election Commissioner, hereby, directs that, a Gazetted Officer of the Government specifically authorized by

the District Collector for this purpose shall conduct election to the casual vacancy in the office of Chairperson,

Kamareddy Municipality in Kamareddy District in accordance with the procedure laid down in the

said Act and Rules and fixes the schedule for the said election in the Annexure appended to this Notification.

NOTE :- The election held in pursuance of this Notification shall be subject to the result of W.P.No.8073

of 2024 and any other W.Ps pending in the Hon’ble High Court having a bearing on the casual

election to the office of Chairperson, Kamareddy Municipality in Kamareddy District.

Notice to be given in Form -III by the Gazetted Officer authorized by the

District Collector, Kamareddy District calling for a special meeting to be

convened for conduct of election to the office of Chairperson, Kamareddy

Municipality.

(This Notice should be given to all the members of Kamareddy Municipality

specified in Sub-section (2) and clauses (a) (b) (c) & (d) of Sub-section (3)

of Section 5 of Telangana Municipalities Act, 2019 (duly indicating the

note mentioned below)
