CASUAL ELECTIONS TO THE OFFICES OF MAYOR AND DY. MAYOR OF BODUPPAL MUNICIPAL

CORPORATION IN MEDCHAL-MALKAJGIRI DISTRICT.

No.868/TGSEC-ULBs/2024,- In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 243-ZA of Constitution of

India, read with Sections 194, 195(5) and Section 20 of the Telangana Municipalities Act, 2019 (Act 11 of 2019)

and Rule 3, 4 and 11 of Telangana Municipalities (Conduct of Election of Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of

Municipal Council and Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Municipal Corporation) Rules, 2020, as amended vide

G.O. Ms.No. 07. of MA&UD (MA) Department, dt: 31.01.2024, the State Election Commissioner, hereby, directs

that, a Gazetted Officer of the Government specifically authorized by the District Collector for this purpose shall

conduct election to the casual vacancies in the offices of Mayor and Dy. Mayor of Boduppal Municipal

Corporation in Medchal-Malkajgiri District in accordance with the procedure laid down in the said Act and

Rules and fixes the schedule for the said election in the Annexure appended to this Notification.

(Election schedule for conduct of election to fill up the casual vacancies in the offices of

Mayor and Dy. Mayor of Boduppal Municipal Corporation in Medchal-Malkajgiri District)

Note:

1.

If for any reason election to the said office is not held on 15.07.2024, it shall be held on the next

day i.e., on 16.07.2024 whether or not it is observed as a holiday by the Municipal Corporation as

per Rule 6 of Telangana Municipalities and Municipal Corporations (Conduct of Election of

Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of Municipal Council and Mayor and Dy. Mayor of Municipal

Corporation) Rules, 2020.

The elections to the Office of Dy. Mayor shall be conducted only after completion of election of

Mayor. No election shall be conducted unless the office of Mayor is filled up. (Sub-rule (4) of

Rule 7 Conduct of Election Rules, 2020).

Sub-section (3) of Section 5 of Telangana Municipalities Act, 2019 (duly

indicating the note mentioned below)
