IN pursuance of the provisions of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Constitution of India, the
Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of the Uttar Pradesh
Kshettra Panchayats tatha Zila Panchayats (Sanshodhan) Adhyadesh, 2022 (Uttar Pradesh Adhyadesh
Sankhya 8 of 2022) promulgated by the Governor. The Panchayati Raj Anubhag-2 is administratively
concerned with the said Ordinance.

[Promulgated by the Governor in the Seventy third Year of the Republic of India]
AN
ORDINANCE
further to amend the Uttar Pradesh Kshettra Panchayats and Zila Panchayats
Adhiniyam 1961.
WHEREAS the State Legislature is not in session and the Governor is satisfied that
circumstances exist which render it necessary for him to take immediate action;

NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of
Article 213 of the Constitution of India, the Governor is pleased to promulgate the
following Ordinance:-
1. This Ordinance may be called the Uttar Pradesh Kshettra Panchayats and
Zila Panchayats (Sanshodhan) Adhyadesh, 2022.
Short title
2. In section 15 of the Uttar Pradesh Kshettra Panchayats and Zila Panchayats
Adhiniyam, 1961 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act),-
(a) in sub-section (11), for the words "more than half", the words
"not less than two-third" shall be substituted;
(b) in sub-section (13), for the words "one year", the words
"two years" shall be substituted.

3. In section 28 of the principal Act,-
(a) in sub-section (11), for the words "more than half", the words
"not less than two-third" shall be substituted;
(b) in sub-section (13), for the words "one year", the words
