Whereas, the then existing Managing

Committee had challenged their dissolution made

by the Government of Goa, Secretariat, Porvorim-

-Goa, vide order dated 13-06-2016 in Writ Petition

No. 628/2016.

And whereas, the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay

at Goa while disposing of the above Writ Petition

had directed as follow:-

(i)

The Mamlatdar shall commence the process

of inquiry into the list of Mahajans for

weeding out ineligible Mahajans from the

list to be prepared.

(ii)

While conducting the inquiry he has to hear

all the parties and without hearing any of

the Mahajans already in the list, they shall

not be removed from the list.

Note:- There is one Supplementary and one Extraordinary

issue to the Official Gazette, Series III No. 45 dated

09-02-2017, as follows:—

Supplementary dated 09-02-2017 from pages 1671

to 1690 regarding Notification from Department of

Finance [Directorate of Small Savings & Lotteries

(Goa State Lotteries)].

Extraordinary dated 14-02-2017 from pages 1691

to 1692 regarding Order from Department of Home

(iii) He shall give fair opportunity to such Mahajans

who have to establish their lineage to produce

the necessary documents in support of their

lineage and then hear them.

(iv)

The entire process of conducting the inquiry

by following the principles of natural justice

and then prepare the list of eligible Mahajans

followed by elections to the Managing

Committee must be over within three months

from today.

(v)

It is made clear that earlier directions with

regard to the major financial or policy decision

in the order dated 07-07-2016 will continue.

And whereas, in compliance with the above

directions of the Hon’ble High Court, the

undersigned has fixed a hearing from 15-02-2017

to 31-03-2017 at 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and

3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. as a date and time, for the

compliance of the above directions, the venue being

the office of the undersigned.

And whereas, the person claiming to be eligible

for enrollment as a Mahajanis hereby required to

remain present for the hearing along with the

necessary supporting documents as prescribed by

the Devasthan Regulation, showing the lineage to

their male ascendant already existing in the list of

founder Mahajans mentioned in the Bye-laws of the

Temple dated 24-09-1926, which is published in the

Official Gazette (Boletim Official). A copy of this list

is made available on the notice board at a

conspicuous place in the office of the undersigned

and also on the Notice Board of the Temple of Shree

Rudreshwar Devasthan, Harvalem, Sankhalim, Goa.

And whereas, in the same breath, the

undersigned is also conducting an inquiry of

Mahajans already in the list; they may also appear

in person with the requirement as stated herein

above.

And whereas, the undersigned is directed to

prepare the list of eligible Mahajans, strict

compliance shall be adhered to Model No. 24

mentioned in Article 23 of the Devasthan

Regulation. (copy of Model No. 24 is placed at the

conspicuous place of this office and at the office of

the Temple of Shree Rudreshwar Devasthan,

Harvalem, Sankhalim, Goa.

Now therefore, all the persons claiming to be

the Mahajans of Shree Rudreshwar Devasthan,

Harvalem, Sankhalim, Goa, are required to remain

present at the place and time mentioned herein above.
