In exercise of the powers conferred by
sub-section (2) of section 30 of the Consumer
Protection Act, 1986 (Central Act 68 of 1986),
the Government of Goa hereby makes the
following rules so as to further amend the Goa
Consumer Protection Rules, 1987, as follows
namely:—
1. Short title and commencement.— (1)
These rules may be called the Goa Consumer
Protection (Amendment) Rules, 2017.

(2) They shall come into force from the
date of their publication in the Official
Gazette.
2. Amendment of rule 3.— In sub-rule (1) of
rule 3 of the Goa Consumer Protection Rules,
1987 (hereinafter referred to as the “Principal
Rules”), the following shall be substituted—
(i) For the words Rs. 4,000/- the words
Rs. 25,000/- shall be substituted.
(ii) For the words (Rupees Four Thousand
only), the words (Rupees Twenty Five
Thousand only) shall be substituted.
