Whereas the bye-elections to South Goa

Zilla Panchayat Constituencies of 9–Nuvem,

15–Curtorim and North Zilla Panchayat

Constituencies of 10–Calangute and 17–Corlim have

been declared vide letter No. 19/35/DP/Bye-

-Election/2017/2142 dated 26-04-2017 and letter

dated 11-07-2017 respectively.

Now therefore, the State Election Commission

in exercise of the powers conferred upon it under

Article 243K of the Constitution of India and Section

237(1) and (3) of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994,

do hereby notify as follows:-

(a) “that the Collector and District Magistrate,

North Goa shall function as the overall Zilla

Panchayat Election Officer (ZPEO) for North

Goa Zilla Panchayat Elections and

(b) the Collector and District Magistrate, South

Goa shall function as the overall Zilla

Panchayat Election Officer (ZPEO) for South

Goa”.

This comes into force with immediate effect.

Whereas the bye-elections to 9–Nuvem &

15–Curtorim South Goa Zilla Panchayat

Constituencies, Ward No. IV of Village Panchayat,

Dramapur-Sirlim in Salcete Taluka, 10–Calangute

and 17–Corlim North Goa Zilla Panchayat

Constituencies and Ward No. III of Village

Panchayat, Morlem in Satari Taluka in the State of

Goa are scheduled to be held on 20-08-2017.

And whereas this State Election Commission

will issue a public written Notice in Form No. 2

and Form No. 2A of the intended election as

required under Rule 10(3) of the Goa Panchayat

and Zilla Panchayat (Election Procedure), Rules,

1996.

Now therefore, this State Election Commission

in exercise of the powers conferred upon it under

Article 243K of the Constitution of India and Section

237 of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 read with

Rule 10(2)(i) of the Goa Panchayat and Zilla

Panchayat (Election Procedure) Rules, 1996 do

hereby notifies that the nomination papers of

candidates in respect of bye-elections to 9–Nuvem

& 15–Curtorim South Goa Zilla Panchayat

Constituencies, Ward No. IV of Village Panchayat,

Dramapur-Sirlim in Salcete Taluka, 10–Calangute

and 17–Corlim North Goa Zilla Panchayat

Constituencies and Ward No. III of Village

Panchayat, Morlem in Satari Taluka which are going

to poll on 20th August, 2017 shall be accepted by

the respective Returning Officers at the respective

notified places from 1st August to 8th August, 2017

between 10.00 hrs. to 13.00 hrs. except on 6th

August, 2017 being Sunday.

In exercise of the powers vested in me under

Section 203 of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994,

I, R. K. Srivastava, Commissioner, Goa State Election

Commission hereby appoint the following

Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers

as Requisitioning Authorities for the requisition

of premises, vehicles, etc. for the purpose of

bye-elections to Village Panchayats and Zilla

Panchayats.
