No. 37/128/2008-MAG/9588

Read: 1. Letter No. SIDCGL/TECH-PON-19/536/

/16-17 dated 05-07-2017 from the Deputy

General Manager, Sewerage & Infrastruc-

tural Development Corporation of Goa

Whereas, the Deputy General Manager, Sewerage

Ltd., Ishan Bldg., 2nd Floor, opp. C.C.P., Panaji, vide

letter dated 05-07-2017 has informed that the

Sewerage and Infrastructural Development

Corporation of Goa Ltd. (SIDCGL) has taken up the

work of Sewerage network in Ponda town and its

adjoining talukas and major portion of the work has

been completed till date. The work involves laying

of HDPE pipes of various sizes below the existing

roads by trenchless method (HDD) and construction

of manholes at regular intervals. The entire system

is designed such that the sewage collected and is

conveyed to the sewage treatment plant by gravity

without any intermediate pumping station;

And whereas, it is further informed that due to

extremely undulating terrain resulting in excessive

depth of the sewer line below road level, it is

required to lay the sewer line by adopting micro

tunneling methodology in place of HDD at few

locations. This method involves deployment of heavy

machinery and also requires considerable time for

completing the work in comparison to HDD.

Presently two locations have been identified for

micro tunneling one each in Ponda town and

Bandora respectively and submitted the details as

under:

1. Ponda town: Civil Court to Kapleshwali bypass

jn., total length - 700 mtr.

2. Bandora: Panchayat Office to Church road, total

talukas.

And also Order under Sections 115 and 116
