In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section

(2) of Section 46 of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994

(Goa Act 14 of 1994), the Government of Goa hereby

specifies the Officers mentioned in Col. No. (2) of

the Schedule hereto as the Officers who shall

preside over the first meeting of the Panchayats

mentioned in the corresponding entry in Column

No. (3) of the said Schedule to be held on

22-12-2012 to elect the Sarpanch and Deputy

Sarpanch of the Panchayat.

himself or is authorized to appoint the reserved

staff or to make alternate arrangement.

Whereas, the term of the Sarpanchas, Dy.

Sarpanchas and other members of the Village

Panchayats specified in column (2) of the Schedule

below will expire on 18-12-2017;

And whereas, the Sarpanch elections to the said

Panchayats cannot be held;

And whereas, therefore, it is necessary to

appoint an Administrator to run the affairs and all

other activities of each of the said Panchayat till

the Sarpanch elections are held and a new elected

body of members headed by the Sarpanch takes

the charge of the respective Panchayat;

And Whereas, the Government has decided to

appoint the outgoing Sarpanch as Administrator

of the respective Panchayat.

Now, therefore in exercise of the powers

conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 180 of the

Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Goa Act 14 of 1994),

the Government of Goa hereby appoints the persons

specified in column (3) of the Schedule below as

Administrator of the Panchayat mentioned in the

corresponding entry in column (2) of the said

Schedule with effect from 19-12-2017 until the post

of Sarpanch and Dy. Sarpanch has been filled.

Every aforesaid Administrator shall, during the

period of his/her appointment, exercise all the

powers, perform and discharge all the duties and

functions conferred and imposed upon the

Sarpanch of the Deputy Sarpanch or the members

of the respective Panchayat under the provisions

of the said Act and the rules made thereunder or

any other law. However, no decision in exercise of

the above powers shall be taken by the

Administrator without consultation of the Block

Development Officer of the Taluka/Block.
