Whereas the General Election to 186 Village
Panchayats for Goa have been declared vide
Notification No. 19/DP/Election/VPs/2017/2234
dated 09-05-2017.
And whereas under Article 243K of the
Constitution of India, the Goa State Election
Commission is seized with the conduct of the said
elections.
Now therefore, the Goa State Election
Commission in exercise of the powers conferred
upon it hereby notifies that the Model Code of
Conduct shall be applicable from 18-05-2017 till
counting is over in all the Village Panchayat areas
excluding those mentioned below:–
A) Village Panchayats
1) Alorna, Casarvarnem & Chandel Hassapur
in Pernem Taluka.
2) Harvalem in Bicholim Taluka.
3) Taleigao in Tiswadi Taluka.
B) All Municipal areas in Goa.

Whereas the General Election to 186 Village
Panchayats in the State of Goa are scheduled to be
held on 11-06-2017.
And whereas this State Election Commission
will issue a public written Notice in Form 2 of the
intended election as required under Rule 10(3) of
the Goa Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat (Election
Procedure) Rules, 1996.
Now therefore, this State Election Commission
in exercise of the powers conferred upon it under
Article 243K of the Constitution of India and Section
237 of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 read with
Rule 10(2)(i) of the Goa Panchayat and Zilla
Panchayat (Election Procedure) Rules, 1996 hereby
notifies that the nomination papers of candidates
in respect of General Election to 186 Village
Panchayats, which are going to poll on 11th June,
2017, shall be accepted by the respective Returning
Officers at their respective notified places from
18th May, 2017 to 25th May, 2017 from 10.00 hrs. to
13.00 hrs. except on 21st May, 2017 being Sunday.
