In pursuance of sub-rule (1) of Rule 4 of the Municipalities (Election) Rules, 1969, the Commissioner

hereby appoint in relation to the bye-election to Ward No. IX of Sanguem Municipal Council by the ward

specified in column (1) of the Schedule hereto:

a) Name of Returning Officer or Assistant Returning Officer specified in column (2) [against the ward

specified in column (1) hereinafter referred to as “against the ward”];

b) The date and time specified in column (3) (against the ward), thereof, to be the last date and time

for making nominations;

c) The date and time specified in column (4) (against the ward), to be the date and time for the

scrutiny of nominations;

d) The date specified in column (5) (against the ward), to be the date for the publication of the list

of validly nominated candidates;

e) The date and time specified in column (6) (against the ward), to be the last date for withdrawal

of candidatures;

f) The date specified in column (7) (against the ward), to be the date for the publication of the list

of contesting candidates;

g) The date or dates and time specified in column (8) (against the ward), to be the date or dates on

which and the time during which the poll shall be taken;

h) The date and time specified in column (9) (against the ward), to be the date and time for counting

of votes;

i) The place specified in column (10) (against the ward), to be the place for making scrutiny and

withdrawal of nominations;

j) The place specified in column (11) (against the ward), to be the place for counting of votes.

Whereas the bye-election to ward No. IX of Sanguem Municipal Council in Sanguem Taluka is scheduled

to be held on 29-07-2018.

And whereas the State Election Commission will issue a public written Notice in Form No. I of the

intended election under Rule 4(1) of the Goa Municipalities (Election) Rules, 1969.

Now therefore, this State Election Commission in exercise of the powers conferred upon it under

Article 243 ZA of the Constitution of India read with Rule 4 do hereby notify that the nomination papers

of candidates in respects of bye-election to Ward No. IX of Sanguem Municipal Council in Sanguem

Taluka which is going to poll on 29th July, 2018 shall be accepted by the Returning Officer at the notified

place from 7th July to 14th July, 2018 from 10.00 hrs. to 13.00 hrs. except on 8th July, 2018 being Sunday.

Now, therefore, this State Election Commission in exercise of the powers conferred upon it under

Article 243K of the Constitution of India and Section 237 of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 read with

Rule 10(2)(i) of the Goa Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat (Election Procedure) Rules,1996 do hereby notify

that the nomination papers of candidates in respect of Ward No. II of Village Panchayat Sarzora (General)

in Salcete Taluka which is going to poll on 29th July, 2018 shall be accepted by the Returning Officer

at the notified place from 9th July, 2018 to 16th July, 2018 between 10.00 hrs. to 13.00 hrs. except

on 15th July, 2018 being Sunday.

Taluka.

The programme of Election is as under:

3. A voter in a ward is entitled to cast only one vote.

(ii)

Form of nomination paper will be available in the Office of the Returning Officer during office

hours.

(iii)

In case of general seat, a sum of Rs. 100/- and in case of seat reserved for a woman or a person

belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes, Backward Class, a sum of Rs. 50/- is required

to be deposited with the Returning Officer on or before the date fixed for receiving the

nomination papers.
