In exercise of the powers conferred on me under

Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and as

recommended by the Dy. Supdt. of Police, Traffic

(North), Panaji, I, Levinson Martins, District

Magistrate, North Goa District hereby order the

following temporary arrangements for diversion of

traffic on 14th and 15th of August, 2018 on the

occasion of Independence Day in Panjim City.

The stretch of D. B. B. Marg from ferry wharf

junction to Bandodkar statue (both lanes) will

be closed for traffic flow from 20.00 hrs. of

14-08-2018 till the function is over on

15-08-2018.

The vehicles entering Panaji city via New

Patto Bridge on reaching Bandodkar statue

will be allowed to take left turn and proceed

behind Old Secretariat to take left turn near

Joao Castro Road - Match Corner to proceed

to their destinations via M. G. Road.

The vehicular traffic desiring to go out of

Panaji city, on reaching ferry wharf will be

diverted towards Police Head Quarters to

proceed to Health Centre, Commerce point,

Church Square to proceed via Jose Falcao road,

Joao Castro Road and exit via Old Patto Bridge

or via Cortin to proceed to Old Patto Bridge.

4. The traffic desiring to enter Panaji city from

Hotel Sona junction will be diverted towards

Old Patto Bridge and to enter Panaji city via

new Patto Bridge.

5. The movement of traffic on Joao Castro road,

Jose Falcao road and Dr. Pissurlekar road from

Printing Press junction to Hotel Aaram

junction will be reversed during the diversion

period.

The Executive Engineer, W. D. VI, XXV, XVIII

(Roads), P.W.D., Fatorda, Margao, shall take necessary

steps for erection of “Speed Limit Signboards”. The

works be strictly as per the specification along with

installation of necessary cautionary signboards and

road markings of thermoplastic paint, fixing of cat

eyes, as per IRC specifications laid down by the

Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and as

published in the Official Gazette, Series I No. 15

dated 15th July, 2005 by the Government of Goa.

The signboards shall be installed as per

specifications laid in the Seventh Schedule under

the Goa Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2005

& shall be located 40 meters in advance of the

speed breaker and at the placement of the speed

breaker.

Action taken report including photographs of

the work executed must be submitted to this office

within 30 days.

Non-compliance of the Order shall attract Penal

Provisions u/s 188 of I.P.C., 1860.

the jurisdiction of South Goa District except the

vehicles used by:-

1. Vehicles deployed for the purpose of

comprehensive Management of cleanliness on

beaches as authorized by Director of Tourism

from time to time.

2. Vehicles for Beach lifeguarding Services as

authorized by Director of Tourism from time to

time.

3. Vehicles of Tourist Security Force as authorized

by Director of Tourism from time to time.

4. Vehicles of Police Department as authorized by

the undersigned after receipt of N.O.C. from

Tourism Department.

Subject to the condition that care should be taken

to avoid turtle nesting sites during patrolling and

also no sanddune vegetation and turtles should be

disturbed. No patrolling should be done at Galgibag

beach. The Director of Tourism shall also furnish to

the undersigned copy of authorization order for the

vehicles being permitted, when issued.

Further, in exercise of the powers conferred on

me under section 116 of the Motor Vehicles Act, I

authorize the erection of signboards at these places.

private as well as public and upon all

occasions whatsoever use and sign the name

of Mr. Dilip Tukaram Harmalkar as my name in

place of and in substitution for my former name

of Mr. Deelip Tukaram Mandrekar.

Expressly authorize and request all persons at

all times hereafter to designate and address

me by such assumed name of Mr. Dilip Tukaram

Harmalkar accordingly.

use of my former name of Jaianti Govinda Gadi

the name of Jayanti Tulshidas Gaonkar and so

that I may hereafter be called, known and

distinguished not by my former name of Jaianti
