Note:- There is one Extraordinary to the Official Gazette,

Series III No. 37 dated 12-12-2019 namely,

Extraordinary dated 12-12-2019 from pages 1917

to 1918 regarding Order from Department of

Home (Home—General Division), Office of the

District Magistrate, North Goa.

Whereas, Dy. Superintendent of Police, Traffic,

Altinho, Panaji-Goa, vide his letter referred to at (1)

above has requested for issue of temporary

notification for vehicular movement in Calangute-

-Baga areas (some roads) as One Way during

Christmas and New Year i.e. from 21-12-2019 to

05-01-2020.

Now therefore, I, R. Menaka, IAS, District

Magistrate, North Goa in exercise of the powers

under section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act do

hereby temporarily notify the below mentioned

stretch of road as One Way for the period from

21-12-2019 to 05-01-2020 subject to the following

conditions:

1) Vehicles moving from St. Alex Church to

Calangute-Baga Junction via St. Anthony

Chapel.

2) Vehicular traffic proceeding from Baga-

-Calangute Junction up to Government

Primary School.

3) Vehicular traffic plying from Government

Primary School, up to Fat Fish Junction and

4) Vehicular Traffic plying from Joa de Mar Resort

up to Piety Chapel, Baga:

1. Necessary signages indicating “Road

Diversion” be erected at all the road points for

the information of the motorist.

2. The Sarpanch/Secretary, Village Panchayat

Calangute, should issue notice through Press/

/Media regarding the diversion of road on

receipt of the Notification.

3. The Traffic Police is directed to deploy

sufficient number of Traffic Marshals round

the clock for diversion and guiding the

motorists accordingly.

4. The Sarpanch/Secretary, Village Panchayat

Calangute is directed to install red lamps/

/lights at the construction site for clear

visibility of road users during night time.

5. Sufficient traffic signages/directional boards

should be erected at all the road closure points

for the information for motorists and other road

users.

6. Prior permission from other competent

authorities should be obtained well in advance

including District Police.

7. The Sarpanch/Secretary, Village Panchayat

Calangute, has to create temporary parking

lots for parking of Heavy buses, Mini buses,

Tempo’s and 4 wheelers.

8. The Organizers should allow free access to

emergency vehicles like Ambulance, Fire

Tenders etc.

9. Material used for the barricading the road

should be painted/pasted with fluorescent

paint/tape for illuminating the same during

the night time.

10. After completion of the above period the road

should be brought its normalcy for the use of

motorists and other road user.

11. The permission is subject to cancellation/

/revocation at any moment.

In exercise of the powers conferred on me

under Section 112 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988

and Rule 264A of the Motor Vehicles Rules, 1991 as

amended in 2005 and as recommended by the

Dy. Superintendent of Police, Traffic (North), Altinho,

Panaji-Goa, I, R. Menaka, IAS, District Magistrate,

North Goa District, hereby notify the construction

of Hump Type “Speed Breaker” at the place

mentioned in Column No. 2 of the schedule below

in the jurisdiction of Village Panchayat, Guleli,

Satari-Goa.

the speed breaker in advance of the speed breaker

and traffic signboard showing the sign “Speed

Breaker” at the placement of the speed breaker in

order to regulate the motor vehicular traffic.

The Village Panchayat, Guleli is directed to

publish this notification through the Director of

Information and Publicity in newspapers and PWD

to make necessary arrangements to erect the

signboards at the places indicated above as per

the specification laid down by the Ministry of Road

Transport and Highways and as published in the

Official Gazette by the Government of Goa and

report compliance within fifteen days time.

Now therefore, I, R. Menaka, IAS, District

Magistrate, North Goa in exercise of the powers

under section 115 of the Motor Vehicle Act do hereby

notify temporary restricting entry and movement of

Heavy/Medium Vehicles (Big buses/Mini buses/

/Tempos) in Calangute and Baga area and

earmarking herebelow temporary parking places

for parking of Heavy Buses, Mini Buses, Tempo’s

and 4 wheelers in the outskirt of Calangute-Baga

from 15-12-2019 to 05-01-2020 in view of Christmas

and Year End Festivities.

The temporary parking of Heavy buses, Mini

buses, Tempo’s and Four Wheelers will be as under

subject to the following conditions:-

Barren Fields opposite St. Alex Church: For

parking Heavy buses, Mini buses, Tempo’s and

Four Wheelers in Survey No.434/4 & 434/5 of

Village Calangute.

Barren Fields near Fat Fish Restaurant: For

parking Heavy buses, Mini buses, Tempo’s and

Four Wheelers in Survey No.388/1 & 388/2 of

Village Calangute.

Barren Fields near Bodke Wadakade,

Porbowado: For parking Heavy buses, Mini

buses, Tempo’s and Four Wheelers in Survey

No. 375/5, 375/6, 375/7, 375/8, 375/9, 375/10,

375/11, 375/12, 375/13, 375/14 & 375/15 of

Village Calangute.

Near Poriat Cross: For parking Heavy buses,

Mini buses, Tempo’s and Four Wheelers in

Survey No. 169/21 of Village Calangute.

Necessary signages indicating “Road Closed

Ahead” be erected at all the road points for

the information of the motorist.

The Sarpanch/Secretary, Village Panchayat

Calangute, should issue Notice through

Press/Media regarding closure of the road on

receipt of the Notification.

The Traffic Police is directed to deploy

sufficient number of Traffic Marshals round

the clock for diversion and guiding the

motorists accordingly.

The Sarpanch/Secretary, Village Panchayat

Calangute is directed to install red lamps/

/lights at the construction site for clear

visibility of road users during night time.

Sufficient traffic signages/directional boards

should be erected at all the road closure points

for the information for motorists and other road

users.

The Executive Engineer, W.D. VI (Roads), P.W.D.,

Fatorda, Margao-Goa, shall take the necessary steps

for erection of “Hump type speed breakers &

Rumbler strips”. The work be strictly as per the

specifications along with installation of necessary

cautionary signboards and road marking of

thermoplast paint, fixing of cat eyes, as per IRC

specifications laid down by the Ministry of Road

Transport and Highway and as published in the

Official Gazette Series I No. 15th July, 2005 by the

Government of Goa. The signbaords shall be

installed as per specifications laid in the Seventh

Scheduled under the Goa Motor Vehicle

(Amendment) Rules, 2005 & shall be located 40

meters in advance of the Hump type speed breaker

and at the placement of the speed breakers &

rumbler strips.

Action taken report including photographs of

the work executed must be submitted to this office

within 30 days.

Non-compliance of Order, shall attract penal

provisions u/s 188 of I.P.C., 1860.
