Office of the Deputy Collector & Sub-Divisional

___

Order

No. 1/Dy.Col/PNJ/COVID-19/2020/1809

Under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal

Procedure, 1973

Whereas, a surge in COVID-19 cases is being

witnessed in Goa and other parts of the country,

and the situation might further aggravate due to

public gatherings and active interactions alongwith

high positivity rate;

And whereas, in order to contain the spread of

the said pandemic, certain measures were

undertaken and more are required to prevent the

further spread of the disease;

And whereas, in my considered opinion, there

are sufficient grounds for proceeding under sub-

section (1) of Section 144 of Code of Criminal

Procedure, 1973 to take preventive steps to contain

the spread of virus by restricting public gatherings

and activities;

And whereas, I am satisfied that the

circumstances do not permit the individual serving

of orders, in due time, of the notices individually

upon the persons against whom this order is

directed and therefore, under the powers vested in

me under sub-section (2) of Section 144 of the Code
