________
No. 3-3/11-12/ARPZ/Urban/Reg/Vol.I/909
Read:
Letter No. dated 08-02-2023 and 06-07-2023
from the Chairman, Shiroda Urban
Co-op. Credit Society Ltd., Shiroda, Ponda-
Goa.
Whereas, the Chairman of Shiroda Urban
Co-operative Credit Society Ltd., Shiroda, Ponda-Goa
in furtherance to resolution No. 11 adopted in the
Special General Body Meeting of the above referred
society held on 29-01-2023 has forwarded a proposal
to this office for altering the existing classification
of the society from Resource Society/Credit
Resources Society to Resources Society/Service
Resources Society as per sub-section 2, of Section 10
of the Co-op. Societies Act, 2001 read with sub-rule 2
of Rule 8 of the Goa Co-op. Societies Rules, 2003.
And whereas, the said proposal has been
examined by this office and it is noticed that the
special general body meeting of the members in the
meeting held on 29-01-2023 passed a resolution to
change its classification from Resource Society/
/Credit Resource Society to Resources Society/
/Service Resources Society in order to incorporate
the new objectives of the multipurpose nature to
increase its business activities.
And whereas, in light of the above, the decision
of the members in the general body meeting to opt
for change in the classification of the society from
Resource Society/Credit Resource Society to
Resource Society/Service Resource Society is found
convincing. Incidentally, the change in the
classification of the society resulted in change in
the name of the society for which an amended
Certificate of Registration has already been issued
to society duly approving the amendment carried
out to the text of bye laws as per sub-section (2) of
Section 10 of the Co-op. Societies Act, 2001 read
with Rule 12 of the Goa Co-op. Societies Rule, 2003.
Therefore in light of above, I am inclined to pass the
following order:-
ORDER
In exercise of the power vested in me under
sub-section (2) of Section 10 of the Goa Co-op.
Societies Act, 2001 read with sub-rule 2 of Rule 8 of
the Goa Co-operative Societies Rules, 2003, I, Pankaj
V. Marathe, Asstt. Registrar of Co-operative Societies,
Ponda Zone, Ponda-Goa is pleased to approve
change in classification of Shiroda Urban
Co-operative Credit Society Limited, Shiroda, Ponda-
Goa from Resource Society/Credit Resource Society
to Resource Society/Service Resource Society as per
sub-rule 2 of Rule 8 of the Goa Co-operative Societies
Rules, 2003. Consequently, the change in the name
of the society is also approved from “Shiroda Urban
Co-op. Credit Society Limited, Shiroda, Ponda-Goa”
to Shiroda Urban Multipurpose Co-operative Society
Limited, Shiroda, Ponda-Goa, in terms of Section
13(1) of Goa Co-operative Societies Act, 2001 read
with Rule 12 of the Goa Co-op. Societies Rules, 2003.
Further, the bye-laws of the society also amended
suitably wherever essential as per Section 11 of the
Goa Co-operative Societies Act, 2001.

Societies), Ponda Zone.
