Under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure
of 1973
Whereas, as part of safety and security measures
which are required to be taken during the 37th
Edition of the National Games, scheduled to be
held in the State of Goa from 26th October to 9th
November, 2023 at 23 Venues in 43 Games.
And whereas, FA Head (Games Conducted &
Venue Readiness Committee) Director of Sports &
Youth Affairs & Jt. Secretary (Ex Officio) to
Government of Goa, Directorate of Sports and Youth
Affairs, Campal, Panaji-Goa has informed that the
Water Sports like Rowing (Coastal), Yatching and
Canoeing & Kayaking is being held at Vaiguinim
Beach, Hawai Beach (Dona Paula), and Chapora River
from 27th October, 2023 to 7th November, 2023 and
therefore, requested this office to issue Order
banning any fishing or water sports activities from
27th October, 2023 to 8th November, 2023.
Now, therefore, in view of the above I, Dr. Sneha
S. Gitte, IAS, District Magistrate, North Goa District,
in exercise of powers vested to me under Section
144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, do
hereby ban for any fishing or water sports activities
within 01 nautical mile in coastal areas at below
mentioned venues and dates:
a)
Rowing (Coastal) at Vaiguinim Beach (Dona
Paula) from 2nd November, 2023 to 6th
November, 2023.
b)
Yatching at Hawai Beach (Dona Paula) from
2nd November, 2023 to 8th November,
2023.
c)
Rowing at Chapora River from 27th
October, 2023 to 1st November, 2023.
d)
Canoeing & Kayaking at Chapora River from
3rd November, 2023 to 7th November, 2023.
Since it is not possible to serve individual notices
to all persons concerned, this order is being passed
ex parte. Any person, who contravenes this order
shall be liable for punishment in accordance with
the provisions of the law. The Deputy
Superintendent of Police, Security, Altinho, Panaji
Goa shall ensure compliance with this order. The
PWD department is directed to assist police in
erecting view cutter, barricades as per requirements
of the Deputy Superintendent of Police Security,
Altinho, Panaji-Goa.
This order shall be in force from 27th October,
2023 to 8th November, 2023.
