Notification
5/30/2012-DPS/Part/966
The Official Gazette of Goa contains a
variety of Government issued notifications,
orders, proclamations, corrigenda, addenda
and deferred private advertisements/
/notices authorized by competent authorities.
While it presents itself as an authentic
Government publication, it also includes
privately issued notices.
To ensure legal validity and standing in
courts and with authorities, private
individuals and institutions prefer to
advertise in the Official Gazette rather than
in
local
newspapers.
Similarly,
the
Government of India publishes private
advertisements in the Official Gazette but
disclaims any legal responsibility for their
content.
A notice is printed alongside these
advertisements stating that the Government
bears no legal responsibility for their
publication. Instead, the persons or parties
notifying
the
advertisements/public
notices are solely accountable for any
legal consequences or misrepresentation.
Therefore, the Government of Goa adopts
a similar approach for publishing private
advertisements/public
notices,
which
captions as under:
Notice
“No Legal Responsibility is accepted for the
publication of Advertisements/Public Notices/
/Affidavits in the Official Gazette. Persons/
/Party notifying the Advertisements/Public
Notice will remain solely responsible for the
Legal consequences and also for any other
misrepresentation etc.”.
This issues with the approval of the
Government dated 31-01-2024.
By order and in the name of the
Governor of Goa.

Secretary (Printing & Stationery).
