Whereas, in the year 1968-71, the Government of
Goa, Daman and Diu, carried out survey of Revenue
villages thereby promulgating the Record of Rights
by assigning survey numbers to the various land
parcels.
Whereas, certain lands which are in possession
of the South Western Railways though surveyed
and shown in the survey plan have not been
assigned any survey numbers and hence no Record
of Rights was created in the nature of Form D in
respect of land in possession and occupation of the
South Western Railways.
And whereas, it is necessary and expedient to
carry out survey of the cities referred to in the
schedule appended below to this Notification, in
which the Railway track of South Western Railways
passes through, with a view to prepare Record of
Rights connected therewith.
Now, therefore in exercise of the powers
conferred under Section 65 of Goa Land Revenue
Code, 1968 (9 of 1969) read with the Goa Land
Revenue (Revenue Surveys and Sub-Divisions of
Survey Number) Rules, 1969, the Government of Goa
hereby directs that the Revenue Survey of the cities
referred to in Column 3 of schedule shall be carried
out with a view to settle the area by means of
preparation of Record of Rights and authorises the
Directorate of Settlement and Land Records,
Government of Goa to undertake the said work.
