In exercise of the powers conferred on me under

Sections 115, 116 & 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act,

1988 and as recommended by the Superintendent

of Police, Traffic, Altinho Panaji-Goa, I, Dr. Sneha S.

Gitte, IAS, District Magistrate, North Goa District

hereby order diversion for all types of vehicular

traffic at CH: 508.610 to 508.910 Central Median at

Sangolda Junction to upto 70 meters towards Panaji

side (Sector 3) and CH: 511.920 to 512.340 from Mall

de Goa to Chatrapati Shivaji Statue and thereafter

Reg. No. RNP/GOA/32/2024-2026

RNI No. GOAENG/2002/6410

on Vishwanath Lawande Road (Existing Service

Road) (Sector 4) during the construction of National

Highway-66 Elevated Corridor Project (Phase 2)

w.e.f. 11-09-2024 till the completion of the above

project. The following route shall be followed:-

CH: 508.610 to 508.910 Sangolda Junction to Dr.

Signey Pinto residence (Sector 3)

The vehicular traffic shall not be diverted and

the traffic shall move on the existing NH-66 and a

6 meters wide road shall be made available on either

side, beyond the barricading.

The work of the Elevated Corridor shall be carried

out from the starting point of Central Median at

Sangolda Junction to upto 70 meters towards Panaji

side, where the road is sufficiently wide.

CH: 511.920 to 512.340 Mall De Goa to Delfino

Junction (Sector-4)

The vehicular traffic shall be diverted near Mall

de Goa on the road leading to Chatrapati Shivaji

Statue and thereafter on Vishwanath Lawande Road

(Existing Service Road).

1. The heavy goods vehicles coming from Panaji

side and proceeding towards Porvorim/Mapusa

shall not be allowed from 06:00 hrs. to 22:00 hrs.

These vehicles shall be diverted at Merces

Junction towards Banastari/Cortalim.

2. The newly constructed road leading to

Chatrapati Shivaji Statue shall be repaired before

diverting the vehicular traffic near Mall de Goa.

3. The stretch of road on either sides from Mall de

Goa to Chatrapati Shivaji Statue shall be “No

Parking/No Stopping Zone”.

4. Teachers Training College Junction shall be kept

open for crossing of vehicles.

5. The normal flow of vehicular traffic on the

parallel and surrounding roads shall not be

disturbed/obstructed by placing construction

related machinery/equipments or by dumping

construction material.

6. Traffic Police shall have discretionary powers to

regulate/divert/halt Heavy Goods Vehicles as

per the prevailing traffic senario.

7. Necessary Informatory Signboards viz. Heavy

Goods Vehicles Prohibited, Compulsory Left/

/Right, No Stopping/Parking, No Entry etc. shall

be installed at all strategic locations for the

information of the motorist.

8. All diversion points shall be well illuminated

during the night time.

9. Material used for barricading/diversion shall be

painted/pasted with fluorescent paint/tape for

illuminating the same during the night time.

10. The contractor shall depute maximum traffic

marshals at all strategic locations for assisting

smooth mobilization of their machinery and

logistics.

11. Awareness shall be given through Print/

/Electronic Media regarding the closure/

/diversion for the information of the motorist.

12. Permission from other concerned authorities

shall also be obtained.
