The 10th March 2010

G.S.R. 3, dated 25th March 2010—By the order of the Government of India in the

Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Published under order 2461

(A), 25^th September 2009, in words expression used in respect of purchase, movement,

sale, supply, distribution or storage for sale in the Removal of (Licensing requirements,

Stock limits and Movement Restriction) on Specified Foodstuffs Order, 2002 shall be

kept in abeyance for commodities namely Rice for a further period upto 30^th September

2010. In exercise of the powers conferred by section-3 of the Essential Commodities Act

1955 (Central Act 10 of 1955) read with the above order the Governor of Bihar is

pleased to make the following amendment in the order issued vide Notification No. GSR

- 49, dated 17^th October, 1985 for the storage limit of trade Articles under clause 3 and

clause 18 of Bihar Trade Articles (Licencing Unification) order 1984 Published by Food

and Consumer Protection Deptt. Bihar, Patna under order GSR- 9, dated 19^th April, 1984.

(1) No recognized dealer of Rice shall hold any stock of Rice for a period

exceeding 30 (thirty) days from the date of receipt by him of such stock and shall not

keep in stock at any time, rice in excess of quantities mentioned below :-

(a)

Muncipal Corporation Areas - 2000 (Two Thousand) quintals

(b)

All Other Areas - 1000 (One Thousand) quintals.

(c)

Maximum stock limit for Rice millers shall be 3000 (Three thousand) quintals.

Provided that nothing contained in this order shall apply to the holding or keeping

of stock of Rice by the following ,

(i)

Stock held on Government account or

(ii)

Stock held by the recognised dealers nominated by the State Government or

an officer authorized by it for distribution through Fair Price Shop.

(iii)

Stock held by the Food Corporation of India/Bihar State Food Corporation .

(2) The stock limits fixed as above shall not be crossed in any case without prior

approval of the State Government.

(3) Corresponding notifications/orders issued previously shall deem to be ammended

upto this extent.

(4) This Notification shall come into force at once.

(5) This Notification shall remain in force concurrently with the validity of the Cenntral

Order issued under No. S.O. 2461(E) dated 25^th September 2009 referred to in

preamble of this Notification .
