The 19th January 2011
G.S.R. 1, dated 11th January 2011—In exercise of the powers conferred by section-3 of
the Essential Commodities Act 1955 (Central Act 10 of 1955) read with the order of the
Goverment of India in the ministry of Consumer Affair, Food and Public Distribution published
under order No. 3060(E) dated 30th December, 2010 and in view of Removal of (Licensing
Requirements, Stock Limit and Movement Restrictions) on Specified Foodstuffs (Amendment)
order, 2010 with prior concurrence of Government of India, in the words and expressions used in
respect of purchase, movement, sale, supply, distribution or storage for sale in the Removal of
(Licensing Requirements Stock Limits and Movement Restrictions) on Specified Foodstuffs
order, 2002 shall be kept in abeyance for commodities, namely, Sugar for a further period up to
31st March, 2011, from the date of commencement of this order.
2. The deletion of Sugar from schedule -1, in Bihar Trade Article (Licences Unification)
order-1984 vide departmental notification no. 2354, dated 15th July, 2003 shall be kept in
abeyance upto 31st March, 2011.
3. The provisions of Bihar Trade Articles (Licensing Unification) order 1984 shall
remain applicable in respect of wholesale and Retail dealer of Sugar.
4. The validity of the departmental notification issued vide memo no. 6968 dated 6th
December 2010 is extended upto 31st March, 2011.
5. Previously issued corresponding notifications/orders shall deem to be amended upto
this extent.
6. This notification shall come into force at once.
