G.S.R. 1, dated the 12^th January 2012—In exercise of the powers conferred by

section-3 of the Essential Commodities Act 1955 (Central Act 10 of 1955) read with the

order of the Government of India in the ministry of Consumer Affair, Food and Public

Distribution published under order No. 2716(E), Dated 29^th November, 2011 and in view

of Removal of (Licensing Requirements, Stock Limit and Movement Restrictions) on

Specified Foodstuffs (Fourth Amendment) order 2011, with prior concurrence of

Government of India, in the words and expressions used in respect of purchase,

movement, sale, supply, distribution or storage for sale in the Removal of (Licensing

Requirements Stock Limits and Movement Restrictions) on Specified Foodstuffs order

2002 shall be kept in abeyance for commodities, namely, Rice for a further period up to

30^th November, 2012, from the date of commencement of this order.

2. The deletion of Rice from schedule-1, in Bihar Trade Article (Licences

Unification) order-1984 vide departmental notification GSR no. 5, dated 25^th October,

2002 shall be kept in abeyance upto 30^th November, 2012.

3. The validity of the departmental notification issued vide memo no. 9315, dated

21^st November 2011 is extended upto 30^th November, 2012.

4. Previously issued corresponding notifications/orders shall deem to be

amended upto this extent.

5. This notification shall come into force at once.
