The 17^th January 2012

S.O. 5, dated 18^th January 2012—Whereas vide Home (Special) Department

Notification No. B/Pol.firing-01/2011-10868, dated 22^nd June 2011, the Governor of

Bihar was pleased to constitute an Enquiry Commission under the Commission of

Enquiry Act (No. 60, 1952) for inquiring into the incident of police firing, which took

place on 3^rd June, 2011 at Forbesganj in Araria District. The term of the commission was

fixed for 6 months from the date of notification i.e. 22^nd June 2011 to 22^nd December

2011. The Governor of Bihar was further pleased to appoint Shri Madhavendra Sharan

(Retd.) Hon'ble Justice to Patna High Court, Patna as its Chairman.

2. Further, whereas, the Governor of Bihar is pleased to decide that in order to

complete the enquiry, the commission requires to be given further extension of tenure

from 22^nd December 2011 to 31^st December 2012.

3. Now, therefore, in exercise of powers conferred by section-3 of Act no. 60 of

1952, the Governor of Bihar is pleased to extend the period of the commission of enquiry

from 22^nd December 2011 to 31^st December 2012.
