NOTIFICATION

Nirvachan Sadan, Ashoka Raod, New Delhi-110001/ Dated: 18^th October, 2012/26^th Asvina, 1934 (Saka)

No. 23/BR/2013ÑWhereas, the Commission had announced the schedule for Special

Summary Revision of electoral rolls with reference to 01^st January, 2013 as the qualifying

date in the State of Bihar vide its letter No. 23/2012-ERS (Vol-III), dated 27^th August, 2012;

and

Whereas, the Commission has received a request from the Chief Electoral Officer

Bihar vide his letter No.E.R-1-03-2013-5814 dated 16^th October, 2012 for extension of

period for filing claims and objections in view of holidays on account of Durga Puja festival

falling within the aforesaid period, resulting in loss of working days for revision process; and

Whereas, the Commission has considered it and approved the proposal vide its letter

No. 23/BR/2013, dated 17^th October, 2012.

Now therefore, the Election Commission, in exercise of power conferred by proviso

to Rule 12 of Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, extends, for all Assembly Constituencies

in State of Bihar, the period for filing claims and objections up to 12^th November, 2012

(Monday) for ongoing Special Revision of Electoral rolls with reference to 1st January 2013.
