No. E2-2-111/2010-43—In exercise of the powers conferred by proviso to Article 309 of the

Constitution of India, the Governor of Bihar is pleased to make the following Rules for amendment in Bihar

Election Service Rules, 2006.

1. Short title, extent and commencement – (1) This Rule shall be called The Bihar Election Service

(Amendment) Rules, 2012.

(2) It shall extend to whole of the State of Bihar.

(3) It shall come into force from the date of publication in the official Gazette.

2. Rule 12 of Bihar Election Service Rules, 2006 shall be substituted by the following:-

"12. Departmental Examination and Subject – In accordance with provisions of Rules for the

Departmental Examination of Gazetted Officer, 1961, a departmental examination shall be

conducted by the Central Examination Committee (Board of Revenue) as and when

required on the request of Election Department for the officers of Bihar Election Service

of basic grade, whose subjects and syllabus shall be as follows :-

(1)

Subject – Hindi (Written examination-200 Marks, Interview-100 Marks)

Syllabus – The syllabus of Hindi Examination will/shall be similar to the syllabus

prescribed for the Officers of Bihar Administrative Service.

(2)

Subject – Accounts (Part-1) – Without Book.

Syllabus –The syllabus of Accounts (Part-1) – Without Book, will/shall be similar to

the syllabus prescribed for the Officers of Bihar Administrative Service.

(3)

Subject – Accounts (Part-2) – With Book.

Syllabus –The syllabus of Accounts (Part-2) – With Book, will/shall be similar to

the syllabus prescribed for the Officers of Bihar Administrative Service.

(4)

Subject – Criminal Law (Part-1) – Without Book.

Syllabus –The syllabus of Criminal Law (Part-1) – Without Book, will/shall be

similar to the syllabus prescribed for the Officers of Bihar Administrative Service.

Subject – Criminal Law (Part-2) – With Book.

Syllabus –The syllabus of Criminal Law (Part-2) – With Book, will/shall be similar
