The 30th December 2013

S.O. 668, dated the 31st December 2013—Whereas vide Home Department

(Special) Notification No. B/Pol.firing-01/2011-10868 Dated 22^nd June 2011, the Governor

of Bihar was pleased to constitute an Enquiry Commission under the Commission of

Enquiry Act (No. 60, 1952) for inquiring into the incident of police firing, which took place

on 3^rd June, 2011 at Forbesganj in Araria district. The term of the commission was fixed for

6 months from the date of notification i.e. 22.6.2011 to 22.12.2011. Keeping in view of

further necessity of the commission to complete the enquiry the time extension was given

from dated 22.12.2011 to 31.12.2012 through Home Department Notification no. 601 dated

17.01.2012 and from dated 01.01.2013 to 31.12.2013 through Department Notification

15381 dated 21.12.2012. Shri Madhavendra Saran (Retd.) Hon’ble Justice to Patna High

Court, Patna is the Chairman of the Commission.

2. Further, whereas, the Governor of Bihar is pleased to decide that in order to

complete the enquiry, the Commission requires to be given further extension of tenure from

01.01.2014 to 30.09.2014.

3. Now, therefore, in exercise of powers conferred by section-3 of Act no. 60 of

1952, the Governor of Bihar is pleased ot extend the period of the Commission of enquiry

from 01.01.2014 to 30.09.2014.
