No. F(27)pen-126/13-1130/F—In exercise of the power conferred under Proviso to

Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Bihar is hereby pleased to make

the following Rules/provision to amend the Bihar General Provident Fund Rule, 1948 :-

1. Short title, extent and commencement.—(1) These rules may be called The Bihar

General Provident Fund (amendment) Rules, 2014.

(2) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Bihar.

(3) It shall come in force at once.

2. Sub-rule (1) of Rule 16 of The Said Rules, 1948 shall be substituted by the

following :-

" (1) An advance shall be recovered from the subscriber in such number of equal

monthly installments as the sanctioning authority may direct but such number shall not be

less than twelve and not more than thirty six. A subscriber may, at his option, repay more

than one installment in a month. Each installment shall be a number of whole rupees, the

amount of the advance may be raised or reduced, if necessary, to permit the fixation of such

installments."
