The 9th September 2014

S.O. 363, dated the 11th September 2014—In exercise of the powers conferred by

sub-section (1) of Section 13 and Sub-Section (1) of Section 14 of the Bengal, Agra and

Assam Civil Courts Act 1887 (Act XII of 1887) and Sub-Section (2) of Section 7 and Sub-

Section (1) and (2) of Section 9 and Section 11 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973

(Act-2 of 1974) and in modification of all the previous orders and notifications issued on the

Subject, the Governor of Bihar is pleased to-

(i) constitute separate judicial District of present Munger judicial District; and

(ii) establish a Court of District and Sessions Judge, Lakhisarai;

(iii) the Headquarters will be at Lakhisarai.

(iv) The District and Sessions Court, Lakhisarai will exercise jurisdiction over the

matter arising within the revenue limits of Lakhisarai District and Sheikhpura District with

effect from 20th September 2014 and District and Sessions Judge, Munger will cease to

have jurisdiction on such matter from 20th September 2014.
