The 8th January 2016

S.O. 3, dated the 11th January 2016—Whereas vide Home (Special) Department

Notification No. B/Pol.firing(Bagha)-02/2013-5860 Dated 04^th July, 2013, the Governor of

Bihar was pleased to constitute an Enquiry Commission under the Commission of Inquiry

Act (No. 60, 1952) for inquiring into the incident of police firing, which took place on 24^th

June., 2013 at Bagaha. The term of the commission was fixed for six months from the date

of notification i.e. 04-07-2013 to 04-01-2014. Keeping in view the further necessity of time

for the commission to complete the enquiry, the time extension was granted from

05.01.2014 to 04.01.2015 through Home Department notification no. 86 dt. 03.01.2014,

from 05.01.2015 to 04.07.2015 through Home Department notification no. 724 dt.

19.01.2015 and from 05.07.2015 to 04.01.2016 through Home Department notification no.

558/Pr.Secy.cell dated. 01.08.2015 Shri Rajendra Prasad Hon’ble Justice (Retd.), Patna

High Court, Patna is the Chairman of the Commission.

2. Further, whereas, the Governor of Bihar is pleased to decide that in order to

complete the enquiry, the Commission requires to be given further extension of tenure from

05-01-2016 to 04-07-2016.

3. Now, therefore, in exercise of powers conferred by section-3 of Act no. 60 of

1952, the Governor of Bihar is pleased to extend the period of the Commission of enquiry

from 05-01-2016 to 04-07-2016.
