S.O. 39, dated the 22nd February 2016—In exercise of powers conferred by Section -
62 of the Building and other construction workers (Regulation of Employment &
Conditions of Service) Act,1996 the Governor of Bihar is pleased to make the following
Rules to amend The Bihar Building and other construction workers (Regulation of
Employment & Condition of Service) Rules;2005:-
1. Short Title extent and commencement.—(1) These Rules may be Called the
Building and other construction workers (Regulation of Employment & Conditions of
Service) (Amendment) Rule, 2016
(2) It shall extend to the whole state of Bihar.
(3) It shall come into force from the date of publication in official Gazette
2. Amendment of Rule 242 of the said Rules, 2005:—The following provisos shall
be added after Rule, 242 :-
“Provided that notwithstanding the provisions contained in Rule 242 in such cases,
where online Annual Return is filed, in such format as may be prescribed by the
Government for the purpose, may be filed not later than 30th June of every year.
Provided further that the Government, by order, may make or notify consolidated
forms for maintaining registers and records in lieu of the forms prescribed in these rules.
Provided further that the Government may allow the registers and records to be
maintained in computerized or digital formats.”
