The 18th February 2016

S.O. 47, dated the 22nd February 2016— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-

section (1) of section 35 of The Contract Labour (Regulation and abolition) Act, 1970 (37 of

1970) the Governor of Bihar is pleased to make the following Rules to amend the Bihar

Contract Labour (Regulation and abolition) Rules, 1972 :-

1. Short Title, extent and commencement.—(1) These Rules may be called the Bihar

Contract Labour (Regulation and abolition) (Amendment) Rules, 2016.

(2) It shall extend to the whole State of Bihar.

(3) It shall come into force from the date of publication in the official gazette.

2. Amendment of sub rule (2) of Rule 82.- At the end of para of sub rule (2) of Rule

82 of the said Rules,1972, the following provisos shall be added :-

"Provided that notwithstanding the provisions contained in sub rule (1) and sub rule

(2), in such cases, where online Annual Return is filed in such format as may be prescribed

by the Government for the purpose, it may be filed not later than 30th june of every year:

Provided further that the Government, by order, may make or notify consolidated

forms for maintaining registers and records in lieu of the forms prescribed in these rules:

Provided further that Government may allow the registers and records to be

maintained in computerized or digital formats."
