The 15^th March 2017

No. 3A-9-Misc.-47/2016-1864/F—In exercise of powers conferred by the proviso to

Article- 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Bihar is here by pleased to make the

following code to amend the Bihar Service Code, 1952:–

1. Short title, extent and Commencement.—

(1) This may be called Bihar Service (Amendment ) Code, 2017

(2)

It shall extend to the whole of the State of Bihar.

(3) It shall come into force with immediate effect.

2. The following new rule- 255A shall be added after rule, 255 of Bihar Service Code :–

"255A:- When a Government Servant joins a new post without availing full joining

time by reasons that he is ordered to join the new post at a new place of posting

without availing of full joining time to which he is entitle; or he proceeds alone to

the new place of posting and joins the post without full joining time and takes his

family later within the permissible period of time for claiming Travelling

Allowance for the family then the number of days of joining time admissible under

rule, 255 reduced by the number of days of joining time actually availed of shall be

credited to his leave account as earned leave:

Provided that the total of the earned leave credited and unused joining time in the

Earned Leave Account shall not exceed 300 days."
