GSR 08 dated The 23 rd October 2017—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of
the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (Central Act 10 of 1955) read with the Removal of (Licensing
Requirements, Stock limits and Movement Restrictions) on Specified Foodstuffs Order,2011, the
Removal of (Licensing Requirements, Stock limits and Movement Restrictions) on Specified
Foodstuffs Order,2002, and the Removal of (Licensing Requirements, Stock limits and Movement
Restrictions) on Specified Foodstuffs (Second Amendment) Order,2015 published through S.O.
3136 (E) dated 27.09.2017, all of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution
(Department of Consumer Affairs), Government of India, the Governor of Bihar is pleased to make
the following order regarding licensing, stock limits and movement restriction of edible oils and
edible oilseeds :-
(1)
The Order made regarding edible oils and edible oilseeds by the department’s
notification no. 1495 dated 10.03.2010 read with the Bihar Trade Articles
(Unification of Licenses) Order, 1984 shall remain in force till 30 September, 2018
from the date of issuance of this Order.
Provided that nothing contained in this item shall apply to –
(a)
exporters having Import Export Code issued by the Directorate General of Foreign
Trade from the purview of stock holding limits under the Essential commodities
Act, 1955 with respect to edible oilseeds, edible oils for the stock meant for export;
(b)
stock essential commodities meant to be used as raw materials by licensed food
processed food processors for manufacture of food products, from the purview of
stock holding limits under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955;
(c)
Retailers (Multiple Outlets) and Large Departmental Retailers from stock holding
limits under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
(2)
Previously issued corresponding notifications/orders shall be deemed to be amended
to this extent.
(3)
This Order shall come into force from the date of its notification.
