The 2^nd August 2019

No.- Vanya Prani-30/19 -1036(E)— Whereas, the Government of Bihar is of the opinion

that due to its ecological, floral and and avi-faunal significance for the purpose of protecting,

propagating and developing wildlife and associated ecosystem, the Gogabil Jhil shall be declared as

Gogabil Conservation Reserve in the Amadabad Block, district Katihar of Bihar state. The District

Magistrate, Katihar has also recommended for declaration of Gogabil Conservation Reserve.

Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section 1 of section 36-A

of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, as amended by Wildlife (Protection) Act, 2006, the Governor

of Bihar is pleased to declare the 73.78 acre area of Gair Majarua land in Village Jungle Tal English

as Gogabil Conservation Reserve from the date of notification. The full details of area are

mentioned in the schedule given below.

The provisions of sub section (2) of section 18, sub section (2), (3) and (4) of section

27, section 30, 32 and clauses (b) and (c) of section 33 shall, as far as may be apply in relation to a

Conservation Reserve, as they apply in relation to a sanctuary.

The boundary of the proposed area in North, South, East and West direction is

surrounded by private lands belonging to the communities.
