The 28^th October 2019

No. 7/Astha.-05-01/2019GAD-14764--In exercise of the powers conferred by Article

234 of Constitution of India the Governor of Bihar in consultation with High Court, Patna

and Bihar Public Service Commission is pleased to make the following Rules to amend the

Bihar Civil Service (Judicial Branch) (Recruitment) Rules, 1955:-

Bihar Civil Service (Judicial Branch) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2019

Short title and commencement. –(1) This Rules may be called the Bihar Civil

Service (Judicial Branch) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2019.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

Substitution of Rule 5A(3) of the Bihar Civil Service (Judicial Branch)

(Recruitment) Rules, 1955.- Existing Rule 5A(3) shall be subsititued by as here

under:-

“Eligible candidates for the written examination shall be selected on the basis of the

result of the Preliminary Test, to the extent of such number of candidates available

who obtain the minimum qualifying marks prescribed namely, a minimum of 45%

marks for the unreserved category and 40% for the reserved category to a maximum

of 10 times the number of available vacancies, and all candidates obtaining equal

marks as the last candidate's shall also qualify for the written examination."

The provisio to the Rule 5A(3) added by the Bihar Civil Service (Judicial Branch)

(Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2008 vide notification no.-4923 dated

08.05.2008 shall be deleted.

The proviso to the existing Rule 5 substituted Vide Rule 4 in notification no.-17283

dated 28.12.2016 shall be deleted.
