Bihar State University Service Commission (Amendment) Act, 2021
AN
ACT
To amend Bihar State University Service Commission Act, 2017 (Bihar Act 21, 2017)
Preamble— Whereas, Principal in the Universities of Bihar has been included in
teacher category by Bihar State University (Amendment) Act, 2017 (Bihar Act 14, 2017)
and Patna University (Amendment) Act, 2017 (Bihar Act 15, 2017).
Whereas, Bihar State University Service Commission Act 2017 have been enacted,
Therefore it is necessary to include Principal of the colleges in the Universities of
Bihar as teacher under the Bihar State University Service Commission Act, 2017,
On the above mentioned facts, it is expedient to make amendments in the Bihar State
University Service Commission, Act, 2017

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Bihar in the Seventy second year of
the Republic of India as follows:-
1. Short title and Commencement.—
(1) This Act may be called The Bihar State University Service Commission
(Amendment) Act, 2021.
(2) It shall come in force from the date of its publication in the official gazette.
2. Amendment in section 2 of Bihar Act 21, 2017—
(1) Part (vi) of section 2 shall be substituted by the following :-
'Teacher’
means,
Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant
Professor and Principal imparting instruction in department, college or
institute maintained by the university or constituent college;
(2) A new part (xiii) shall be added in section (2) of Bihar Act 21, 2017 as
follows :-
(xiii) "Principal" means, head of College,
P.C. Choudhary,
Secretary to the Government.
