No. M-02-02/2024-07--WHEREAS, the seats of 11 (eleven) members of the

Legislative Council of the State of Bihar, elected by the members of Legislative

Assembly of the State are due to fall vacant on 06^th May, 2024 on retirement of those

members, on the expiration of their term of office as detailed below:

vacancies so arising;

NOW, THEREFORE, as recommended by the Election Commission, in

pursuance of section 16 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the

Governor of the State of Bihar is, hereby, pleased to call upon the Members of the

Legislative Assembly of the State, to elect eleven members to the Legislative Council of

provisions of the said Act and of the rules and orders made thereunder.

सं0 322/ǐबहार-ǐव.प./2024(एम.एल.ए.)(1)--यतः, ǐबहार राÏय के राÏयपाल ने लोक Ĥितिनिध×व

अिधिनयम् 1951 (1951 का 43) कȧ धारा 16 के अधीन जारȣ और राÏय के शासकȧय राजपğ मɅ 04 माच[,

2024 को Ĥकािशत अिधसूचना Ʈारा राÏय कȧ ǐवधान सभा के सदèयɉ से यह अपे¢ा कȧ है ǐक वे राÏय मɅ

ǐवधान पǐरषɮ के िलए Ê यारह सदèय िनवा[िचत कर दɅ।

अतः, अब उƠ अिधिनयम कȧ धारा 39 कȧ उपधारा (1) और धारा 56 के अनुसरण मɅ िनवा[चन

आयोग एतÙƮारा-

(अ) उƠ िनवा[चन के संबंध मɅ िनàनिलिखत िनधा[ǐरत करता है:-

(क) नाम िनदȶिशत करने कȧ अिÛतम तारȣख

(ख) नाम िनदȶशनɉ कȧ संवी¢ा कȧ तारȣख

- 12 माच[ 2024 (मंगलवार)

(ग) अßयिथ[ताएं वापस लेने कȧ अंितम तारȣख

- 14 माच[ 2024 (गुǽवार)

(घ) वह तारȣख, िजसको यǐद आवæयक हुआ तो मतदान होगा, - 21 माच[ 2024 (गुǽवार)

(ड.) वह तारȣख िजससे पूव[ िनवा[चन सàपÛन करा िलया जाएगा - 23 माच[ 2024 (शिनवार),

और

(आ) 09:00 बजे पूवा[ƹ से 04:00 बजे अपराƹ तक का समय, उस समय के Ǿप मɅ िनयत करता है

No. 322/BR-LC/2024 (MLAs) (1): - WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of

Bihar has, by notification issued under Section 16 of the Representation of the

People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951) and published in the official Gazette of the State on

04^th March, 2024 been pleased to call upon the members of the Legislative Assembly

of the State, to elect eleven members to the Legislative Council of the State: -

Now, therefore, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of Section 39 and Section 56

of the said Act, the Election Commission hereby –

(A) appoints, with respect to the said election –

(a) the 11^th March, 2024 (Monday), as the last date for making nominations;

(b) the 12^th March, 2024 (Tuesday), as the date for the scrutiny of the

nominations;

(c) the 14^th March, 2024 (Thursday), as the last date for the withdrawal of

candidatures;

necessary, be taken; and

(e) the 23^rd March, 2024 (Saturday), as the date before which the election shall

be completed; and

(B) fixes the hours from 09:00 am to 04:00 pm, as the hours during which the poll

shall, if necessary, be taken in the State on the date specified above, for the election.
