No-7/Astha-04-01/2017-12763/ GAD.—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso
to article 309 of the Constitution of India the Governor of Bihar, in consultation with the High
Court of Judicature at Patna is pleased to make the following Rules to amend the Bihar Civil
Service (Judicial Branch) (Training and Departmental Examination) Rules, 2019:-
The Bihar Civil Service (Judicial Branch) (Training and Departmental Examination),
(Amendment) Rules, 2024
1.
Short title, extent and commencement.—
(1) These Rules may be called the Bihar Civil Service (Judicial Branch) (Training
and Departmental Examination) (Amendment) Rules, 2024.
(2) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Bihar.
(3) It shall come into force with immediate effect after publication in official gazette.

The insertion of Rule-2(f) of Bihar Civil Service (Judicial Branch) (Training and
Departmental Examination) Rules, 2019 (as amended from time to time).—After
Rule-2(e) of the said Rules, Rule-2(f) shall be inserted as follows:-
2(f)
“The Standing Committee” means the Committee constituted under Rule 1 of
chapter 1 (Part I) of the Patna High Court Rules.

The insertion of Rule-33(a) and 33(b) under the heading “Miscellaneous” above the
Rule-34 of Bihar Civil Service (Judicial Branch) (Training and Departmental
Examination) Rules, 2019 (as amended from time to time).—Above Rule-34 of the
said Rules, Rule-33(a) and 33(b) under the heading “Miscellaneous” shall be inserted
as follows:-
“Miscellaneous.”
33(a) If any question arises as to the interpretation of these Rules, the decision of the
Standing Committee in that regard shall be final.
33(b) 'Residuary Powers.— Nothing in these Rules shall be deemed to affect the
powers of the Standing Committee to make such order or orders, from time to
time, as it may deem fit in regard to all the matters incidental or ancillary to
these Rules and not specifically provided for herein or in regard to matters as
have not been sufficiently provided for'.
