PROTECTION OF ROCK INSCRIPTION, GAVI RANGA SWAMY HILL AT CHALIVENDALA (VILLAGE), HINDUPUR (MANDAL), ANANTAPURAM DISTRICT - NOTIFICATION UNDER SUB-SECTION (3) OF SECTION 4 OF THE ANDHRA PRADESH ANCIENT AND HISTORICAL MONUMENTS AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES AND REMAINS ACT, 1960 (ANDHRA PRADESH ACT No.7 OF 1960).

NOTIFICATION

W hereas, it has been brought to the Notice of the Government that Rock lnscription(Vijayanagara Period), Gavi Ranga Swamy Hill at Chalivendala (Village), Hindupur (Mandal), Anantapuram District in Survey No. 417-9 with an extent of 0.70 cents as described in the Schedule hereunder, to be of Archaeological and Historical importance.

And whereas, the Government are of the opinion that the said the Ancient Rock lnscription(Vijayanagara Period), Gavi Ranga Swamy Hill at Chalivendala (Village), Hindupur (Mandal), Anantapuram District, requires protection under the Andhra Pradesh Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960 (Act VII of 1960). And Whereas, the Government have issued the Notification in G.O.Ms.No.16, YAT & C (Heritage) Department, Dated 01.08.2017 and Published the same in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette No.476, Part-I (Extraordinary) Dated : 21.08.2017 by giving two months notice of their intention to declare the said the Ancient Rock lnscription(Vijayanagara Period), Gavi Ranga Swamy Hill at Chalivendala (Village), Hindupur (Mandal), Anantapuram District, to be a protected monument.

And whereas, no objections have been received by the Government against the declaration of the said the Ancient Rock lnscription(Vijayanagara Period), Gavi Ranga Swamy Hill at Chalivendala (Village), Hindupur (Mandal), Anantapuram District, to be a protected monument within the period of two months.

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of Section 4 of the Andhra Pradesh Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960 (Act VII of 1960), the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby declares the Ancient Rock lnscription(Vijayanagara Period), Gavi Ranga Swamy Hill at Chalivendala (Village), Hindupur (Mandal), Anantapuram District, described in the Annexure as a protected monument.

East : Sy.No.512 (Reserve Forest)

West : Sy.No.417-7,8

North : Sy.No.413

South : Sy.No.417-1.
