ANDHRA PRADESH EXCISE SERVICES AND THE ANDHRA PRADESH EXCISE SUB-ORDINATE SERVICES - PROHIBITING THE PERSONNEL FROM GOING ON STRIKES.

NOTIFICATION

"Whereas, the services of personnel working in Andhra Pradesh Excise Service and the Andhra Pradesh Excise Sub-ordinate Service have been declared as 'Essential Services' under sub-clause (vi) of clause (a) of sub-section (1) of Section 2 of the Andhra Pradesh Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1971 (Act 20 of 1971) for implementation of Government Policies and functions", vide G.O.Ms.No.66, Revenue (Ex-I) Department, Dated: 17.01.1996 and published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette, Part.I Extraordinary, Dated : 20.01.1996. The period for prohibition of strikes in the said services were extended from time to time i.e., up to 22.02.2019.

And whereas, the Government are satisfied that in public interest, it is necessary and expedient to prohibit strikes in the said services for a period of six months.

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Andhra Pradesh Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1971 (Act 20 of 1971), the Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby prohibit the strikes in the Andhra Pradesh Excise Services and the Andhra Pradesh Excise Sub-ordinate Services in Prohibition & Excise Department for a period of six months with effect from 24.02.2019, in public interest, under the Andhra Pradesh Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1971.
