NOTIFICATION

No. 579/SEC-F1/2020-1 Date: 15.02.2021 WHEREAS, the State Election Commission issued Notification No.77/SEC-F1/2020-1, dated 09.03.2020 for conduct of ordinary elections to Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation;

AND WHEREAS, the elections process was completed up to the stage of "Scrutiny of Nominations" on 14.03.2020;

AND WHEREAS, the State Election Commission ordered that all further election process shall be stopped forthwith and the election process shall be continued after (6) weeks from 15.03.2020 or after the threat of Covid-19 recedes, whichever is earlier, vide Notification No. 68/SEC-B1/2020, dated 15.03.2020;

AND WHEREAS, the State Election Commission further ordered that the paused election process shall remain continue until further orders and decided to resume the paused election process from the stage where it was stopped when the situation conducive for conduct of elections is restored vide Notification No. 68/SEC-B1/2020, dated 06.05.2020;

AND WHEREAS, the State Election Commission reviewed the situation and decided that the situation is conducive for resumption of paused election process of Urban Local Bodies from the stage where it was stopped on 15.03.2020;

[1] 2 ANDHRA PRADEH GAZETTE EXTRAORDINARY _________________________________________________________________________ NOW, THEREFORE, the State Election Commission, in exercise of powers conferred under Article 243-ZA of the Constitution of India, resumes the election process from the stage of "Withdrawal of Candidature" in respect of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation and in exercise of powers conferred under Section 7 of the Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Act, 1979 and Section 24 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1955, the State Election Commissioner, hereby, calls upon the registered voters of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation to elect Members of their respective Wards in accordance with the provisions of the said Acts and Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporations (Conduct of Election of Members) Rules, 2005 made thereunder. The schedule of election activities are indicated in the Notification No. 579/SEC-F1/2021-2, dated 15.02.2021.

No. 579/SEC-F1/2021-2 Date: 15.02.2021 WHEREAS, the State Election Commission has, by its Notification No.579/SEC-F1/2021- 1, dated 15.02.2021, called upon the registered voters of the Wards in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation to elect the Members of their respective Wards;

NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of Section 7 of the Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Act, 1979 read with Section 33 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1955, the State Election Commissioner, hereby, appoints with respect to the said election:
