NOTIFICATION
Whereas, the term of the Special officers in 109 Corporations/ Municipalities/Nagarpanchayats expired on 10.10.2020, 31.12.2020 and 02.01.2021 respectively.
And whereas, Government is of the opinion that ordinary elections to the above Urban Local Bodies could not be held in accordance with the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1965, and the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporations Act,1994 due to Election Commission of A.P., postponed the Elections because of COVID- 19 in the State.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso under section (1) of section 62-A of the Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1965, and section 17 of the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1994, read with section 70 G of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Act, 1955, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby extend the term of Special Officers of the Municipal Corporations, Municipalities and Nagarapanchayats for a period as described in the Annexures - I &II.
