In exercise of the powers conferred by Sections 9, 10 and 90 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1955 read with Sections 11 and 14 of Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporations Act, 1994 and Rule 3 of the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporations (Conduct of Election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor) Rules, 2005, the State Election Commissioner, hereby, directs the Election Authority & Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration, Andhra Pradesh to authorize District Collector or Joint Collector of the concerned District for conduct of election to the offices of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Vizianagaram, Machilipatnam, Guntur, Ongole, Tirupati, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool and Ananthapur Municipal Corporations in accordance with the procedure laid down in the said Acts and Rules and fixes the schedule for the said election in the Annexure appended to this Notification.

| 1. | Notice to be given in Form-II by the District Collector of concerned District calling for a Special Meeting for conduct of election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Vizianagaram, Machilipatnam, Guntur, Ongole, Tirupati, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool and Ananthapur Municipal Corporations. ( This Notice should be given to all the elected Members and Ex-officio Members of Vizianagaram, Machilipatnam, Guntur, Ongole, Tirupati, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool and Ananthapur Municipal Corporations) | On 14.03.2021 |

NOTE:-
1. When an Election Notice is issued for conducting election of both the offices of Mayor and Deputy Mayor, no election to the office of Deputy Mayor is conducted unless the office of the Mayor is filled up. Only after completion of election of Mayor, the Presiding Officer shall conduct the election of Deputy Mayor (Sub-Rule 4 of Rule 6 of the election rules).
2. If for any reason election to the office of Mayor or Deputy Mayor is not held on 18.03.2021, it shall be held at 11:00 AM on the next day, i.e., on 19.03.2021 whether or not it is observed as a holiday by the said Municipal Corporations [Section 90(1) of Municipal Corporations Act, 1955 and first proviso to Rule 5 of the election rules].
