ORDER

The Government of Andhra Pradesh vide G.O. second read above have issued rules in respect of conduct of the Andhra Pradesh Research Common Entrance Test ( APRCET ) and admissions of students into part time /full time Ph.D. Programmes in Science / Arts / Humanities / Social Sciences / Fine Arts / Education / Physical Education / Library Sciences / Commerce and Management / Engineering and Technology / Architecture and Planning / Law / Pharmaceutical Sciences etc.

2. The following Notification will be published in an Extraordinary Issue of Andhra Pradesh Gazette , dated 02.01.2023 .

NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred under sections 3 and 15 of the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions ( Regulation of Admissions and Prohibition of Capitation Fee) Act, 1983 ( Act No. 5 of 1983 ) , the Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby issue the following Amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Research Common Entrance Test and Admissions of students into Ph.D Programmes in Science/ Arts / Humanities / Social Sciences / Fine Arts / Education / Physical Education / Library Sciences / Commerce and Management / Engineering and Technology / Architecture and Planning / Law / Pharmaceutical Sciences etc. Rules, 2021 .

AMENDMENTS

In the said Rules , in rule 2: -

1. Under sub - rule ( I ) , in clause 1 , in sub- clause ( 1.1 ) , for the expression and words " 25% of the seats ", the expression and words " 50% of the seats " shall besubstituted .

2. In sub - rule ( II ) , under the heading " APRCET Admissions " , for the opening paragraph and second paragraph, the following shall be substituted, namely; -

"50% of the seats are allocated for Category - 1 candidates for admission into Ph.D programmes in various Universities . A separate merit list will be prepared combining the marks of written test and interview and the ranks will be announced accordingly .

50% of seats shall be reserved to Category - 1 and remaining 50% of seats shall be reserved to Category- 2 . If the number of vacancies in any department is less than two , the same shall be reserved to Category - 1 . Any unfilled vacancies under Category - 1 shall be transferred to Category - 2 and vice-versa " .
